christmas in a glass

Every family has its Christmas traditions.

Take the plum pudding; for many, it’s a Christmas essential. It dates back to the Victorian era and was a firm favourite of Charles Dickens. On Stir Up Sunday, each family member stirred the mixture from east to west to bring the family luck in the coming year.

For the JW Lees family, our Christmas family rituals start with the return each festive season of our Plum Pudding Ale. Our locals have come to expect it. Named in honour of the plum pudding and similarly fruity, it’s nothing less than Christmas in a glass.

the gift of the pub

Pass on the petrol station flowers and the battered box of chocolates and give the gift of the pub this Christmas. Our gift vouchers will arrive instantly and can used towards a huge selection of award-winning beers, delicious seasonal dishes or even a stay in one of our cosy inns or hotels.
